Ah Nottingham, the place where the sun never shines. Or at least never shines when I come and visit. On almost ten separate occasions have I visited Nottingham; a place that sounds great on paper but, in truth, is a pretty run of the mill city. Except it’s never warm or sunny. Ever. As far as cities go it does, however, have something a little unique when it comes to shopping. Every town, every city in the country has charity shops. Places where people donate their old clothes, books or what have you in the name of raising money for charity. They’re good ventures and raise a lot of money for causes while also finding good homes for older things.
Nottingham, though, has a few charity shops that are trying to come across a little more “chic” though. They have more sophisticated layouts, more specific stock (because they trade things with other stores) and are trying to capture the kind of boutique, retro-chic look that has taken much of the fashion world by storm.
